In this paper, we solve the (2+1)dimensional dispersive long wave equation by using a new modified algebraic method, and obtain abundant new exact solutions. These solutions contain solitonlike solutions, periodiclike solutions,hyperboliclike function solutions, Jacobilike elliptic function solutions and so on.-
